Thank you for your interest in helping to support “The Mohawk Performance Hall Capital Campaign.”
We hope this packet of information will provide you with a clear overview of what we want to accomplish as we start a capital campaign to finish and furnish the “FEMA Building.”
This new multi-purpose building, sitting between John Adam’s Middle School and Mason City High School, is a 4 million dollar storm shelter paid for by FEMA grants and has provided the school district with a great opportunity to serve our community in a wide variety of ways. Our working title for this project is “The Mohawk Performance Hall Capital Campaign.”
We are beginning this capital campaign April 1st, 2013 and finishing December 1st, 2013. Our goal is $1,000,000 dollars with $750,000 to be used for immediate furnishings, and $250,000 to be used to establish an account for ongoing maintenance, improvements, and special performances – the first of which will be the St. Olaf Choir on January 24th, 2014.
The funds gathered through this campaign will be held and distributed through the Education Foundation in a restricted account. The best news is that we already have a $300,000 head start from O Jay and Pat Tomson. Perhaps you can be a part of this too.
Again, we thank you for your interest in helping us bring this great opportunity to Mason City. We know this project will happen, and we’d love to have you join us in making this goal a reality.
Sincerely,
Jay Lala
Mohawk Performance Hall Campaign Director
